THE "WORLD ROADMAP" IN REDUCING CARBON

The World's target is to reduce emissions of 'Greenhouse Gases' to assist solving global problems. The countries have a strategy of not only planting trees to absorb carbon dioxide; Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is also being used. This is a technology to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO2) from coal-fired power plants and oil refining process. Thailand sees the significance of CCS in the context of Thailand de-carbonization.

The country will be able to further increase competitiveness by reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero at low cost. Therefore, when the cost is lower this will also support a reduction in industrial and domestic emissions under Thailand’s commitment at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions in 2065.
