Achieving net-zero carbon is a critical necessity for Thailand's manufacturing sector to remain competitive globally and drive sustainable economic growth. The Ministry of Industry has emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure, enhancing labor skills, and promoting social and environmental responsibility to create a balanced approach to economic, social, and environmental progress. New green industry criteria focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero by promoting sustainable production, efficient resource use, and adherence to the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) concept. To commence in 2025 with the goal of achieving GI Certification by 2050, the Ministry aims for all factories to meet Green Industry (GI) certification, ensuring safe operations, minimal environmental impact, and community well-being. For manufacturers, preparing for net-zero carbon is not only about regulatory compliance but also about leveraging tools like Green Productivity to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and foster long-term competitiveness while aligning with global climate goals and creating a sustainable future for Thai industry.
